CONTEST RULES

The below contests are coyote calling contests. No shotguns can be used in either contest.

RANDY ROEDE CONTEST 

Only one decoy dog is allowed in the Randy Roede contest. 

This is not a contest where trapping or snaring animals is permissible. This is not a video contest.

Team members MUST hunt together. 

2-MAN teams, but 1-MAN teams are allowed.

No snowmobiles. You can only use one ATV or UTV per team to transport to and from call sets. No shooting from the vehicle.

All team members must be present at the weigh in AND checked in by 7 p.m. CT for the Randy Roede Contest on December 9, 2023.

COYOTE CUP CONTEST

Decoy dogs (or any other live decoy) are NOT ALLOWED.

This is not a contest where trapping or snaring animals is permissible. This is not a video contest.

Team members MUST hunt together. 

3-MAN teams, but 2-MAN teams are allowed.

No snowmobiles. You can only use one ATV or UTV per team to transport to and from call sets. No shooting from the vehicle.

Weigh in time is 8 p.m. CT.

Each team will be issued 10 numbered tags for the day. 

Proof of video is required to time and date stamp the kill. Additionally, you must document the kill time on the tags provided using Central Time. Note that these are not video contests though.

All tags and bags must be accounted for at the weigh-in. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. You must return any unused tags at the time of weigh in. Do not manipulate any tags.

Coyotes found not properly tagged by inspection teams will result in that team disqualification.

Hunting hours are a half hour before sunrise to a half hour after sunset. 

All team members must be present at the weigh in AND checked in by 7 p.m. CT for the Randy Roede Contest on December 9, 2023.

Only one team per vehicle at the weigh in. Only the team members should be in the vehicle at this time. If there are others in the vehicle, the team will be disqualified.

Weigh ins take time and it is all volunteer time. Please respect the time it takes and the process to do it accurately.

All coyotes are temped prior to being weighed.

All coyotes checked in are possession of The Predator Hunter Association.

Contestants must enter as two-man teams and/or three-man teams; depending on the contest. Any person under 18 years old must be teamed with their parent or legal guardian.

Each entrant must have in his possession, a valid South Dakota Hunting License.

Promoters, tournament directors, and organizations assisting the Tournament operation, their agencies, agents, etc., are not responsible for Death, injuries, damages, liability, theft, fire, or any loss of any kind to entrants. Each entrant, upon signing an entry form will in effect, be signing a waiver form.

All teams are subject to inspection during the tournament.
Any contestant has the right to protest another team or contestant. The protest must be filed in writing with the tournament director in person no later than 1/2 hour after close of the contest day. A $300 protest fee must accompany any protest. A three (3) man protest committee will convene to hear both sides of the issue. Their decision shall be final in all cases. Tournament officials reserve the right to utilize polygraph examinations in determining if prizes will be awarded. The fee will be returned if the protest is found valid. If found invalid the fee will not be returned. Anyone found cheating will be immediately disqualified and the reason for disqualification announced at the weigh-in.

No refunds will be issued.

All questions or problems connected with the rules of The Predator Hunter Association’s tournaments are to be referred to the tournament officials. In the interest of good sportsmanship, it is expected competitors will not crowd nor impede each other. 

No team may pull up to another team during tournament hours.

Disqualifications for any reason will result in forfeiture of entry fee.

Team members must be present and accounted for to receive any payout.

****IMPORTANT****
All rules have “loopholes.” It is the intention of the organizers to provide an honest sportsman-like tournament. In the interest of good sportsmanship, contestants are reminded that the “spirit of the rule” will prevail in all judgment cases. When in doubt, take the time to make a call or text to one of the tournament organizers.
