The 8th Annual Randy Roede Memorial Coyote Calling Contest was held Dec. 14, 2024. We registered 35 teams hunting the contest which was up from last year’s number of 21 teams who had to hunt in 40 mph winds! 26 teams weighed in 115 – 3x as many as last year too! This was a RECORD YEAR on the amount of coyotes weighed in.

Since 2017, the Roede contest has harvested 504 coyotes!

1st PLACE | Rocky Longbrake and Terry Russell came out on top once again with 12 coyotes and a weight of nearly 300 pounds!! They called in multiple triples and make an amazing team. They will be paid out $1,606.50.

2nd PLACE | Thad Rose and Jeremy Ferguson took second place this year with 9 coyotes and a total weight of 252.31 pounds. They will be paid out just over $1,000.00.

3rd PLACE | Jhet Janis and Tristan Herman took third place – also with 9 coyotes and a total weight of 229.14 pounds. Every pound and ounce counts for the money! They will be paid out just over $800.00.

4th PLACE | Terry Fauth and Erik Scott took home the fourth place finish with 8 coyotes and the weight to break the 3-way tie. As two other awesome teams also weighed in 8 dogs. Their total weight was 226.44 pounds. They will be paid out just over $600.00.

BIG DOG | Todd and Brooke Jacquot – a husband and wife team from Onida – won the big dog side pot of $850.00 with a coyote weighing 41.73 pounds. Brooke was also able to shoot her first coyote! Way to go you two, proud of how hard you hunt together.

LITTLE DOG | Jhet Janis and Tristan Herman also won the little dog side pot of $850.00 with a coyote weighing 16.11 pounds.
